4 Month update

A few updates: Our big boy is finally on the "growth chart". For those of you that do not know what that is......The pediatrician's office measures each baby's ht, wt, and head size and compares it to the average measurements for the baby's age. Up to this point Wyatt had been way below average, in fact not even on the chart, which was to be expected seeing that he was 6 weeks early. He is now 13 lbs 15 oz and is 24.5 inches long! He is almost average size, still a little below normal. Dr. Wright told us to start introducing baby food now. Before Wyatt was born I knew I wanted to try to make his baby food. I have read up on a lot of different cooking methods and recipes and decided to introduce him to avacados before anything else. So today was day 1 and it went pretty well! Wyatt of course doesn't fully grasp the concept of the spoon, but after about the 5th taste he had it down good enough :) After giving him a bite, I would put the pacifier in his mouth to encourage him to swallow the avacado! For the next 3 days he will continue to get avacado, then on Saturday we will start carrots. I already have 12 serviings on carrots frozen and ready for him to enjoy. Foods like avacado and banana are better served soon after preparing. On another note, in August Wyatt will be enrolled in daycare. After Ryan and I visited 2 different daycares and put them through a long list of questions, we were more comfortable with kids R kids. I'm sad that my baby boy will be sharing his caregivers time with several other babies, but I know it is a necessary step we have to take. More updates to come!
